My knee has been especially sore since the Saturday race, Sunday recovery run and Tuesday speed workout. So I have gone into cross training and self rehabilitation mode to see if I can get it feeling normal again or at least a little less annoying. So it was yoga on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and the Nordic track today (30 min, 131 avg HR). At yoga we did some Upward Facing Dog, which is fun although I doubt my alignment is anywhere near correct.
Tomorrow I jump on a plane to Singapore. We had to scramble yesterday since the travel center did not issue my tickets and my reservations were cancelled. We were able to come up with a travel itinerary by routing east through Paris instead of west through LA. This means I will be circumnavigating the globe. Sounds exciting but only if one gets to stop along the way on vacation. So not really exciting. Lots of plane time, better get something to keep my ipod juiced.
It is uncertain how much running I will get in on this trip, but I certainly will use the hotel fitness center. The weather is hot and humid always. I will return next Friday night at 7:30 pm just in time to race in the Bayou City Classic 10k the following morning. I am not the first nor last crazy jet lagged runner. No PR guarantees this time around.
