I did not plan to run today. I received my bib number in the mail you see. Bib # CB396, approximate start time 7:08:45 am Mountain Time on May 29. And all those HRB'ers running so well this weekend, way to go one and all.
There is no time for running on Monday due to work commitments. The weather is perfect today. The dog is cowering in the bathroom as the rain, thunder and lightning hammer the area. Nothing like a short power outage to make you want to lace up the shoes.
I like to run in the rain, but I waited out the lightning storm. Serious running for serious weather. Leave the wimpish ipod. The only rhythm will be of your stride. Break out the all blacks: a black technical shirt, black compression shorts, and black running shorts. The real All Blacks are the New York Yankees of international rugby union. A nasty sport for a nasty run.
Even such a training run needs to acknowledge injury recovery. 3 miles, controlled, short stride length, tall, fast turnover, leave a lot in the tank, cool those hams in the pool.
And so it was. 3.0 miles, 25:54, 8:37/min pace, 146 HR. Lot's left in the tank. Hamstrings, you keep a mending, don't you backslide on me tonight.
Run nasty my friends.

Glad to see you went out and did it "Johnny Cash Style." But I am concerned about overuse as your hammies recover.
Glad to hear the hams are recovering. Have patience and you'll be back to your "greased lightin'" pace in no time.
Yes, the New Zealand All Blacks were an awesome team. While living in UK, The Kiwis and the Aussies were the dominant Rugby teams of their day. I thought they played especially tough against their former colonial masters.
Dublin Marathon! how cool is that! get to feeling better!
