- Penn State does yoga for their pre-game stretches. We distinctly recognized Cobra Pose, Half Bow Pose, Half Lord of the Fishes Pose, and Cradle Pose. It did not help them. Perhaps they should try Shiva Destroyer of the Universe Pose next time.
- My wife came in 10th out of 19 in her age group on Sunday, but was not happy with her run. She decided today that not wearing her ball cap made all the difference since she is more focused with her ball cap. Mark Henderson recommends a ball cap in this article for a slightly different reason. Maybe I'll start wearing a ball cap.
- The ushers at Notre Dame stadium told us "welcome to Notre Dame" five times from the front entrance until we sat in our seats. I guess they got grumpier as the game went on since they ejected some fans a half section away from us by the fourth quarter.
- I met a couple of runners at a hospitality table before the football game. One went to ND on a XC scholarship many moons ago, ran a 4:22 mile at the time and has been running for 50 years, ex a 10 year layoff. Being from Minnesota, they highly recommend Grandma's Marathon. Maybe I'll twist Jon's arm to head up there with me next June. Unlike Jon, I'm terrible with names so did not even get theirs.
- They are now selling Collegiate Crocs. My wife got a pair of blue and gold ones with "Fighting Irish" and the "ND" logo on the strap. How cool. Soon to be at your school, although I doubt the Corps of Cadets will replace their Senior Boots with Fightin' Texas Aggie Crocs any time soon.
I did run 5.4 miles this morning in 45:43 with a 144 HR. Maybe I'll go to the track tomorrow night.

so when i recommend grandma's marathon you had no interest, but then some xc dude recommends it and you're all over it, eh? *sigh* i'll say it again, grandma's marathon is supposed to be fabulous.
Just goes to show how brilliant and ahead of your time you truly are.
