Hey Oh Listen What I Say Oh

I got your hey oh now listen what I say oh
When will I know that I really can't go
To the well once more time to decide on
When it's killing me, when will I really see
All that I need to look inside
Come to believe that I better not leave
Before I get my chance to ride
When it's killing me, what do I really need
All that I need to look inside.

- from Snow (Hey Oh) by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I'd post the video but Blogger beta is not up to that task yet. The first time I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers was on TV in Germany, somewhere between 1987 and 1992. I believe this was before they went mainstream in the US, though they seemed popular in Europe. During the show they got naked on TV except for some strategically fitted G string sock like things. I was not impressed with either their music or their anatomy. Fortunately, since that time, their music has stood out rather than their anatomy.

My runner's anatomy has been talking to me all week. My hamstrings have been telling me how tight and sore they are, my weight has been telling me that it is lower yet, my knee has been telling me not to forget that I hurt it in the past, my calves have been saying they are sore in sympathy with my hamstrings and my body is telling me I have not got enough sleep.

So it is recovery week. Monday and Tuesday were off days. Wednesday was an easy paced 7 miler, although it actually was quite difficult for some reason. Thursday was an easy paced 4 miler on the bridge. Friday is a day off as we are going to the Clear Lake v Clear Creek football game.

But Saturday and Sunday I will ratchet it up again. I am itching to do a race tomorrow but I will beg off and do a little warm up. Sunday I will run as far and long as I can. Yum.

That's not the anatomy of yours that I thought you were going to talk about, the way that started off.
