After one rest day, I did another fine 7.8 miles in the bank at an 8:04 pace at Terry Hershey Park. Looks like Tuesday night would have been a ideal time to run as the trails would have been empty. I might have even found a decent parking spot at Memorial Park since Coach Steeeeve and fellow Stridelings were all carb and chianti loading. BARC has our party on Monday at Esteban's Cafe and Cantina Fiesta Shack. Not as upscale as Carmello's. Since we are serious athletes in training, I am sure we will dine on healthy organic produce and drinking strictly water while talking training and race strategies throughout the evening. I probably will not be able to blog about the party since it will all be top secret (there's that spy stuff again).
I'm changing my nickname from Crosstrain to Crossmyfingers. I may need to be out of the country the weekend of the Houston Marathon. While my HARRA series streak would be toast and I would be out the entry fee, it's not like there aren't a plethora of marathons to choose from. Then again I want my revenge on the Houston marathon. Nevertheless, I think I'll start researching fall back options for a few weeks later.
Starting to look forward to the 30k. I liked it a lot last year, ran a yummy negative split. Though it was a bummer getting passed with about 2 miles to go by two women runners who were talking up a storm like they were just two long lost friends out for a stroll. I was dying and they were coasting. At least have the decency to run just a little bit faster next time so you are finished 30 minutes before I reach the last 2 miles.
