Lord, when I am here amidst such healing
tranquility, my heart feels most free.
Too often it becomes cluttered
with the demands of each new day.
I seem to lose focus of the truly important things,
and I become overwhelmed.
Here at the start line it seems so clear, so simple, so peaceful.
Help me not to lose sight of the fact
that your light will always burn gently
in my own heart.
Strengthen me to be a light for others.
With this prayer, I put my trust in you.
Amen.
