I got out my Chevron Houston Marathon Program from last year and am fondling it. How sad.
In more news I went for a run or two. I decided to dial in a marathon pace. I hope it will be my marathon pace, but for sure it will be someones.
So last night I did 5 miles at an 8:56/mi pace. I certainly did not feel I could do that for 26.2 Indeed, my heart rate was a disappointing 139 average.
What a difference 24 hours makes, as tonight I had it all going. I ran 8.9 miles in Terry Hershey Park at an 9:05/mi pace very comfortably. My heart rate average was a glacial 132. Bring it on.
I am clueless why there was so much variability. We'll see tomorrow, I'll probably join Coach Steeeve & friends at Terry Hershey.
My program says that Michelob Ultra is the Official Beer of the Houston Marathon. I think Jamoosh should get to chose the official beer this year.

Young Fella,
Tonight is the SMARTie Hop. Very different, but not overly taxing. Includes 6 miles easy running for purists. Chicken to follow.
Steeeve
I'll miss you out there tonight, Joe. Wish I could make it.
i hope theres some of that beer left for us slow pokes!!
June, don't worry, I've always managed to get beer afterwards and I'm pretty darn slow!

Yep, Coach has numerous friends. Many more on SMARTie Hop workouts and not so many at the end of Boot Camp C&D. Yet the friendship bond is mended over chicken.
You guys have fun tonight!
