Race Aggressively, Drink A Lot, And Volunteer Often

Having had my only two marathons ruined by hydration issues, the MS150 tutorial on Avoiding Hydration Issues is of high interest to me. They suggest that the first thing one must do is acclimatize to the heat and humidity that one will be riding in. Today would be a good day to do just that, but I am not doing any training the weekend. My upper calf muscle has a mild strain that seems to be aggravated by cycling, so I am taking a few days off.

Today's weather is a good reminder that summer is not far away. While I did not run the Law Week 8k, I had the privilege to have timing duties at mile one. So I got to see every runner. Next best thing to running.

Volunteering is in keeping with my new motto:

Race aggressively, drink a lot, and volunteer often.

Of course I am talking about drinking a lot of water and electrolyte containing fluids. At least before and during the race.
