To Brat Or Not To Brat

Will be leaving at 6 am for Notre Dame Stadium for tailgating and football. Crisp, sunny fall weather and excitement in the air as one walks across campus to the smell of brats grilling. Student organizations raise money by selling burgers and brats on campus and indeed they are the finest brats my teeth have ever crunched. The great decision of the weekend will be not who to vote for, since I already voted, but whether to break my streak of no meat since TIR in March due to the temptation of the Fighting Irish brat. So once again with apologies to Bill Shakespeare, the author, not the former ND football giant....

To brat or not to brat, that is the question;
Whether 'tis nobler in the stomach to suffer
The slings and arrows of vegetarian fortune,
Or to take food against ones diet,
And by eating brat, break it. To bite, to swallow;
And more; and by a swallow to say we end
With heart-burn and the thousand bits of fat
That flesh is heir to — 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd.

No brats, Joe. Steak sales at the K of C. Best lunch on campus.

Hope you enjoyed the weekend, aside from the result. There is no better place to spend a fall Saturday...
