Training while traveling is not always easy but is often rewarding for more than the fitness. My most memorable out of town training runs in 2005 were as follows.
Hefei, China An April early morning training run took me first to a bustling open air market and second around Xiao Yao Jin Park. While I saw no other runners, there were many people out and about doing tai chi and aerobic dancing.
Honfleur, France A run in the October early morning darkness, up the hillside on a very dark road with no lights, no traffic, no movement, surrounded by forest and meadows, wondering if I should turn back. Eventually I did.
Miyazaki Seagaia, Japan Zen like April training run in the misty cool weather through the black pines in the park across from my hotel, feeling enlightened and spiritual.
Boulder, CO Miles and miles of cool running on paths that all levels of champion runners have tread.
Half Moon Bay, CA Running the golf course, the cliffs, the beach around the Ritz Carlton in July.
Charles de Gaulle Airport, France Road running around the hotel, might as well have been on I-45. Not recommended, stick to the hotel treadmill.
Ann Arbor, MI Cool, short November run on the grounds of the Nichols Arboretum.

So now why don't you take us to these places? Your next cool road training site should be along the Great Wall, just avoid the crumbly parts...
