Austin Bound

Just signed up to attend the Old Settler's Music Festival just south of Austin on April 21-23. We skipped last year but have attended several in the past. There is not too many things better than live music outdoors.

On top of that I've got my eye on the Schlotzsky 5k Bun Run in Zilker Park on Sunday April 23. A trip to the world's largest Whole Foods Market after the bun run, a drive back to Houston, and an evening at the HRB club meeting will top off a great weekend.

Oh yes I have been getting in some exercise. In a futile attempt to think I could tri someday, I did a freestyle lap swim on Sunday (only 15 minutes worth), if you can call my pathetic stroke swimming. Monday was a 5.4 mile run in 47 minutes with the On the Run crowd, including running the last 1.5 miles with Mark Henderson. There was a walk in the middle so trying to keep the faster runners doing seven in sight for the first two miles was a bit more speed than I really wanted.

You realize that on university campuses across the country "bun run" has a totally different meaning, right? There is running involved, yes, but there is also full nudity and most of the running is from the campus police. Just so you know...
