We saw the line of rain coming our way on our ride and attempted to outrun it back to Clear Lake. No such luck, but it wasn't too bad. I really like to run in the rain, but cycling in the rain is certainly a safety concern. Overall, due to our frantic ride home, the pace was faster than I've done 40 miles before, averaging 18.5mph and a 150HR.
I think all this cycling is going to pay off when my running fitness returns.
Since I'll be out of town next weekend, I think I'll do another organized ride tomorrow morning. The Sunday group tends to be more hard core (read fast) so I may end up getting flushed out the back end of the peloton.

I thought about you when the line went through Friednswood. Wondered if you "made it" or not. Or not...
