Recovery Day

My muscles are pretty sore from the last two weeks of serious biking. So I took it easy today with just a 300 yard swim and some crunches. I also cleaned my darling bike :). This weekend the bike stays home, but I am taking the pedals with me to Colorado. I'm renting a road bike and plan on doing a 100k ride with some folks along the Foothills on Saturday. It will have to do instead of the Boulder Backroads Half Marathon. Perhaps I'll get a Camelback for the ride.

Steve asked if the BARC Pub Crawl run was open to the public. Absolutely, the more the merrier and you can stick to water or non-alcoholic beverages if you like. Jon participated last year as well as a number of Clear Lake Fitness Club members. I haven't done one myself yet. It will be the slowest 6 miles you will have ever run. I will put some more details the week of the event. It is the same day as the HARRA Party in the Park. So you can enjoy Party in the Park from 8 to 10 and come down to Clear Lake for the 11 am Pub Crawl start.

We're having our 3rd "beer run" in September. The first time out was a learning experience - we ran 7 miles with 3 or 4 stops. Forget that!

The one planned next month is a nice short 4 miles. I think it's more about the beverages and tomfoolery than it is about the running!

I'd buy Jay Lee a beer and he'd buy me a Diet Coke. We'd alternate on paying each round.

I had a great time and am planning on doing it again!
