Summertime

And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
and the cotton is high

Yes summer is knocking on the door and that means the Summer Kick-Off 5k is this weekend in League City. This race is part of our club's 5k challenge I'm looking forward to seeing how much this weekends heat and humidity will slow me down. I ran 5 miles in 43 minutes at mid-day today and it was tough going. Stats were:

First 1.5 miles at 8:45 pace
Second 1.5 miles at 7:45 pace
Final 2 miles at 9:07 pace

Maybe I'll take it easy until Saturday. I'd like to put up a good time, something under 23 minutes.
