In less than 5 hours the World Cup begins in Germany and the world outside the United States will be in a frenzy about it. My first prediction is that Germany will win the opening match today versus Costa Rica and that the first goal of this World Cup will go to Lukas Podolski, a 21 year old forward for the host country. Of course, I may be wrong and the goal is scored on a header by Miroslav Klose. My second prediction is that a German player will take a dive after being almost touched by a Costa Rican and roll over like he has been hit by Ray Lewis.
At any rate, I am a football fan. American football first of course, but World football second. There I have said it, don't deport me. Not too many Americans will be taping the opening game today to watch after work. However, based on a recent blog, I do expect JustJuneBug to tune in to the World Cup to watch the young guys run around in their shorts. Then again she may just stick to the live action of her Rice runs.
As for my goals, Keith and I ran the mosquito trail in Clear Lake last evening. It was hot and humid in the jungle. I was off my game. We got through the approximately 4 mile run with my HR a high 141 average for the pace.
You all better be training. I'll tell you Keith is, yesterday he did a bridge run in the morning and a trail run at night. He is looking scary strong for distance. He is going to tear up those fall long runs, we better get working or we'll be left way behind.

My friend won a 2 or 3 week vacation to go watch the World Cup this year. My first question for her was, "do you have to go to the games?"
Nice running with you yesterday, thanks for showing me the trail.
Keith.
I'd love to run the trail with you guys sometime if you don't mind slowing down to my pace...
