I completed my first training log book today and am pleased with the result. In addition to the mileage covered and races competed in the past year, I have been fortunate to train on three continents and to have weathered a handful of injuries. None of the injuries turned out serious enough to sideline me for more than a week or two at a time. As for travel, one thing that I enjoy most about running is just lacing up the shoes and going exploring wherever I may be.
Log book number 2 gets broken in tomorrow. In about 1200 miles and another 22 races, I'll finish that one off as well.
I'm sure that you read on others blogs that several of us ran in Memorial Park on Saturday morning. I have not been there before in the morning. As you all know, except I guess for me, it is quite a sight on Saturday morning to see the gathering of the running clans. I've never seen so many people out doing training in my life. The only comparison was in Hefei, China where large groups of people were out in the parks and squares early in the morning doing aerobic (dance) training, tai chi, and various other activities (but no runners). I saw them all while I was out for an early morning run on a business trip.

Actually, Memorial is pretty tame right now. Wait a month or two and you won't be able to find a parking place in the main parking areas by the tennis center or golf course after 6 am.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I felt the same way about Memorial when I ran there for the first time a couple weeks ago! SOOO many people!
