Texas Beats Louisiana In 5 Mile Challenge

I got up this morning at 4:30 and ran 5.35 miles around the LSU lakes in Baton Rouge. Cajun Joe completed that run in 50 minutes. Returning to Houston this afternoon, I thought I would see if Armadillo Joe could handle 5.4 miles the same day. At 7 pm it was hotter but less humid than the Baton Rouge run. My Louisiana time was easily bested as I finished 5.4 miles in Clear Lake in 48:30. Not a bad pace and my average HR was only 144. I guess taking two days off helped me out. Recovery works.
