I attended my first spinning class this morning at MAC at the ungodly hour of 5:15 am. I did not do any standing since I did not want to put the pressure on my Achilles. It is improving slowly, but still is irritated. I heal slow these days.
45 minutes of interval spinning with an average HR of 152 definitely gave me a workout for breakfast. I doubled up by swimming 400 yds in 10 minutes this evening, plus got a tour of the strength training equipment. We put together a circuit training plan for me. Tomorrow I will rest and get some PT for my injury.
Still laying off the running and hope to correct that horrible state on March 1. It will be tough, but wise, to lay off the accelerator in March.

I know how you feel dude, im training for this years Flora London Marathon in April and am curently suffering from Shin Splints combined with sore calf muscles in both legs.
Ive been out of the running now for nearly a month, ever since i did a practise half marathon in 90mins... getting seriously bored of the swimming and cycling now.
Just want to get back out there pounding the streets. Got the ADIDAS Silverstone Half in March, and the FLM in London on 22nd April... and im in agony.
Good luck with your injury!
Joe.

I hope the achilles feels better soon. In the meantime, enjoy the spinning and er, swimming.
