I won't be running it, but I'll be volunteering both days. I'll be the guy in the green 'fro passing out water at the BARC water stop. Hope to see you there.
If you haven't registered, it is too late, the race is full. You can help at the BARC water stop though. I promise you a Guiness or two.
Yesterday I swam at MAC and then went to Memorial Park for a three miler. My swim workout was my quickest yet. 3 x 200 yds in 4:34, 4:57 and 4:52. My heart rate was up about 10 higher than usual at the start of the run. I took the first mile and one half easy. I shouldn't run at Memorial because I don't like getting passed so often. Finally a women and her two dogs started to pass me and that was enough. I picked up the pace somewhat. With a mile to go someone else started to come by. I had it, time to surge. No one passed me in the last mile, even though I wasn't that fast. So 3 x 1 mi in 9:45, 9:23 and 8:08.
Probably dumb to run that last mile that fast, I feel my tendonitis today (sigh). But it was fun.
Today I swam 650 yds at MAC and did 550 yds without stopping in 16:10. That's a pretty slow
5:52 per 200 yds but I was comfortable and could have kept on going.
Afterwards a little circuit work and had a chance to talk briefly to Coach Steeeeve. He was on the treadmill since the weather was so nasty outside.

Is the BARC water stop at Boondoggles?
LOL. Don't you wish. Of course you can take a little detour and stop there. It won't add too much to your time.
Yay! Happiness is knowing you'll get to see Joe during both of your half marathons... ;)
