73 Runners Sent to the Hospital, 1 Dead

This is according to this story on the BBC News concerning the London marathon. It appears the temperature reached 21C, which is 70F, at midday during the marathon.

That sure doesn't sound very hot to a Houston runner or those that run marathons near the equator, such as in hot and humid Singapore. But as one who suffered dehydration at our marathon, I can see the problem if one does not properly prepare.

Young Fella,

Something to note is that London is a very sunny course - race starts at 9:45am and there's very little shade.
