So wrote William Shakespeare in Julius Caeser. And so wrote Crosstrain in this week's eBARCer which will be distributed tomorrow.......just to keep Jon on his toes for DeerTracks......I hope to see you all at the 10 miler on October 12 or join us for our Take a Hike Ike 6 miler on October 5........
We be battered, bruised, and blistered. At least two of our dear BARC members have had their homes seriously damaged by storm surge while many others will also be getting a visit from the insurance adjuster. We've used muscles that are normally not exercised in our running. The ROC Run on September 27 had to be cancelled and the BARC website is also a victim of Ike. But to the best our knowledge we are all safe and we can run. So with apologies to the Bard's prose in Richard the Third...
"Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by the BARC Fall Ironfoot Series;
And all the clouds that low'r'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried."
2008 BARC Fall Ironfoot Series
To encourage broader participation in our local and HARRA events, and to provide motivation to improve member consistency in training and competing, we bring you the BARC Ironfoot Series.
Any member who is also a HARRA member competing for BARC and completes seven of the following races earns the prestigious Gold Ironfoot award. Participate in six to earn silver and five to earn bronze. Volunteering can be substituted for running at two of the races.

You are just a fine cultured gentleman, Mr. Carey.
You quote Shakespeare.
Me? Well, I came back with the lines from the theme song to "Welcome Back Kotter". :)
