Good enough for Crosstrain. I have been keeping an open mind about the election. But Colin Powell pretty much said what I have been thinking lately. I have heard Mr Powell speak at a dinner and had the good fortune to shake his hand at the reception. He is truly someone whom I trust, not a politician but a servant of our country.
Indeed it would seem the Republican Party has lost its way over the past several years. For me it is best when it is the party of restraint, calm, fiscal competence. Yet it seems it has become the party of social restraint but anything goes otherwise, the party of fear. It runs on a platform of fear of immigrants, terrorists, socialized medicine, taxes, different values. It runs to cling on to power no matter what, choosing a VP candidate not for the needs of the country but for the needs of the election.
America is best when it is forward looking, hopeful, changing, welcoming. We are worst when we cling to the past fearful of the future.
So Crosstrain joins Mr Powell in endorsing Senator Obama for president. It will cost me money if he wins, but I'll gladly pay it in hope. He'll have my vote in early voting.
Lot's to do, let's hope whomever becomes President is able to get it done well.

Tiggs endorses Senator Obama as well. Early voting here I come.
I cannot, in good conscience, vote for the other choice. And yes, he will cost us money. But then again, as long as we're not the only ones, it's probably only right.
Personally, I think both parties have lost their way. And as far as a choice, whether one is talking healthcare or any other issue, it is a matter of "pick your poison." It is a shame it is a two man race.
