Went over the 4000 mile mark today in cycling road miles this year. The best thing is that I did not fall once in that period.
Today I did another 3 mile run - bike double. Not sure of the wisdom of this, but I like it. There were several BARC runners at the club run this morning. Andreia Spencer (Reindeer Run 1st overall female), Dennis Malloy and Shawn Bell were the faster group. Before they sped off, I talked with Shawn some, he was kind enough to compliment me on my eBARCer editor duties. Nancy Woods, who is preparing for the Goofy challenge, was running at the back alone, so I dropped back and ran with her for 1.3 miles. I sped up to catch up with Joseph Essoh and Lee Anne Vorhees prior to turning back for Meador Park. Unfortunately Chris Robbins was there so I ran his lightening pace for a little while prior to letting him speed off. Probably should just stick with the easy pace runners at this.
In the end I got my 3 miles in 29 minutes, let's call it a fartlek. I'd have better statistics but I just can not get Garmin Connect to read the data from the Garmin USB stick with the upload. I am quite disappointed with this.
Off to the club ride. A good group was riding and I stuck with the lead group, including Stephen Milford and Roger Wacker, all the way till they dropped me and Pierre on Todville Road. Pierre and I did the rest of the ride together, over the Kemah Bridge, down to San Leon (hadn't been there since the hurricane), over to the Dog Track and back up the I-45 feeder. 56 miles in all in 18.8mph and a 130 avg heart rate.
So that's a big day, 3 mile run and 56 mile ride. Forgot to add a swim.

that's pretty good. I'm proud of ya gramps.
Wow! That's a long bike ride.
I get excited when I make the trek from Pasaden to Bay Area.
Keep up the good work.
