Podcasts. Chocolate mousse. Margarita. Glorious sleep. Fried chicken. Eggs and bacon. No running. Yes it is recovery week. My coach suggested I take the week off and restart next week at 25% of my mileage prior to the marathon. So that is the plan.
Several people asked me if I went to work on Monday and yes I did. I did reacquaint myself with the elevator. It seems parts of my body did not appreciate the weekend outing. I am not sure I knew some parts existed, but they certainly put up a fuss on Sunday and Monday. At any rate, it was a full week of work for this puppy and a good thing that is to.
If you are reading this blog, you are either a family member or a running nut. For the obsessed runner, I do recommend the podcast "Phedippidations". It is extremely well done by a middle of the pack runner. I am working my way through all 28 episodes, so try one. For the family member, don't miss Irish Eyes Power Hour to hear how Charlie Weis is doing on the recruiting trail. So my new nano ipod has seen some use during my sedentary interludes.
What I learned from a mildly disappointing marathon outing is that I will have to do another one. But that is not going to be until late this year or early next year. Next week it is time to start all over again by taking a first small step as the start of a brand new running year.
