I much prefer running in the morning. It really energizes me for work and helps me get a good nights rest. Alternatively, running at night seems to interfere with my sleep sometimes which can leave me more fatigued the next day. I say this because I ran this morning and felt really good about it. I concentrated on running tall, not overstriding and going a bit slower than my last two outings. The 4.5 mile run was completed in 42:49, 141HR with the first third run at 10:00/mi pace, the second third at 9:00 pace and the final third at 9:30 pace. I included 4 pickups of 30 sec along the way.
Running tall and not overstriding should help my biomechanics. I did ice my knee and took ibuprofen after the run. It felt pretty good all day, so I hope my training schedule and form tactics will work out well.
I stopped at Run Sport this evening and registered for the Buffalo Wallow 6k, Masters Men race. I really should have done some cross country training. I did some short distances this morning on the grass and the uneven surface is quite different. Maybe Saturday I will wear my New Balance trail shoes. I really have not run in them since I got proper running shoes after the Bolder Boulder last year. In any case, my goal on Saturday will be to experience such a race. Judging by last years results, I'll be well to the rear of the pack.

I'm with ya on the morning running. I did need to catch up on sleep this morning due to being in a different time zone all week so it will be a noon lunch today, but that's the exception to the rule.
Joe,
Didn't see an Email address, so I'll leave a comment here. Since you are training for the Boulder Boulder, it may interest you to know that the V-E for Celiac link you put on was mentioned in this morning's Boulder Daily Camera.
Thanx for your support and good luck in the race - I've done it a few times and it is a blast! ;-)
