I just arrived back in Houston after a 5 day trip. 48 hours of it was travel to and from my work location. I've got another trip coming up in 8 days. What a grind. I'm not an endurance athlete these days, just an endurance traveller. I did manage two 30 minute bike trainer workouts in the fitness center while overseas.
Amazingly, I have not gained any weight this year in spite of low running mileage. Then again I've made it up in the pool and on the bike. Indeed I have lost a couple of pounds and am currently at a record low 204 pounds.
I've still not cleared myself for running. I won't run until my leg feels normal. And then I will do a month of low heart rate runs, no races, no speed, no hills.
I bought myself a birthday present today, clipless pedals, bike shoes, and a bright yellow cycle shirt. Will try the pedal system out tomorrow and plan on a 40 miler on Saturday.
Who is going to be the first to sign up for the Houston Marathon this weekend?
Jon said my 5k time is 21-23, that is generous of him. I'll claim 22-24.

Vic and I signed up. Well, I signed up for the 1/2, but I usually procrastinate for months. :-)
