6 miles out and back from Seabrook Trails to Kemah parking garage in a little under 1 hour with a 143 average HR. Ran it with five other BARCers.
Not exactly a recovery run at that heart rate and over the Kemah Bridge.
Not sure what training I'll get in this week as I'm travelling starting Tuesday. I won't be around for a while.
I'm half tempted to fly to Colorado to do the Bolder Boulder 10k for the third consecutive year on Memorial Day weekend. Instead, I really should do the Combat tri like I planned since I have a bike and have done some swimming. I'm getting cold feet. I've never even seen a tri. My bike has toe clips. I look like...well it's not good....in flesh hugging tri shorts. I'll be last one out of the pool. I've never done a brick workout. I'll be disqualified for getting too close to another bike. I'll have a flat tire for sure. The fee for this thing is as much as a marathon.
Running is less complicated. But then again, why should I be mediocre at just one thing when, in the same event, I can be bad at one thing and mediocre in two others?
OK, I speak nonsense. It happens (rarely).

To all your concerns, I say: psssh.
You're ready, and you can do it. In my first tri, I rode with toe clips and did practically a full outfit change in T1.
And hey, if you do happen to be the last one out of the pool (which is doubtful), I *guarantee* you'll pass dozens of people on the bike and run.
You forgot to mention trying to put on your singlet after you've put on your helmet.
Steeeve
I feel the same way you do about tris...but hey, I'm sure you can beat me out of the water any day! Just do it!!!
What you need is a Stone IPA Cycling Jersey...
