It's my 30th anniversary working for my employer.
It's my 28th anniversary of meeting my wife.
It's Bastille Day.
and it's the day of the awesome 29th annual Lunar Rendesvous 5k where you too can celebrate one small step for man, earn a Technical T Shirt with the logo below on it, and compete in a race with 5 year age group awards 5, yes FIVE deep!!!
Yours truly was 6th in his age group last year, just outside the money, so Coach Steeve will sure to place if he makes the trek to Space Center Houston this year. And here is hoping triathlete starlet Sarah doesn't wake up with a headache and miss the event like last year!
Jessica asked if I was going to do a tri and the answer is YES. I have not selected one yet since it depends on my running fitness. I hope to begin training once again on July 1 by a couple of weeks of walking. My target return to organized running is the BARC 7th annual Pub Crawl on August 25. If you don't make Lunar, or even if you do, you have to come for the Pub Crawl. You can read about the 2006 Pub Crawl on Jon's blog here. I suspect the same 9 'water' stops along the course are planned.
Got in 750 yards of swimming on Monday morning before being pulled from the MAC pool for lightening. At the moment I have a nasty head cold, so I am sidelined until further notice. Travelling and training does challenge ones immune system.

We're obviously leading parallel lives but I'm a couple of years behind you on most counts. MAC is very serious about not swimming in lightning which fits in well with our EM culture.
No Lunar Rendezvous for me - too hot. Race had a fine reputation and regularly draws a good contingent from the Houston Striders.
Steeeve
Yikes - "had" in the last sentence was a typo, should be "has".
Steeeve is skipping because it's too hot?? Heck yeah it's hot, but I'll be there!
I am on the fence about Lunar, but it is something I am contemplating.
If I survive the 4th Run Wild 5K, all have a better shot at me showing up down there for the Lunar.
And it's close enough to my birthday that I can "dRUNk"
