What Jet Lag?

Picking this morning to do my first 60 miler was probably not the ideal choice. But, hey, I got a new cycling shirt that needed breaking in.

60 miles at an average pace while cycling of 17mph and an average HR (inclusive of two rest stops) of 142. I am officially exhausted.

Fluid intake = 2.76L (1.42L Ultima, 0.67L Gatorade, 0.47L Chocolate Milk, 0.2L water)

Despite all that fluid I still lost 3 to 3.5 pounds door to door. So I kept under 2% weight loss.

It appears that I need to drink 750mL to 1L per hour on these long distances, at least in the summer, which is a hell of a lot.

Just four more miles than what's needed for a half ironman!

Very impressed.
