Marathon Official Says I Don't Need My Chip

My cold has cleared up well enough to get a little ride in this evening. 11.2 miles at 18.2mph. Nothing like a nice run or ride to scare away any down feelings. Junebugs blog today hit a nerve for me too, its tough not running the Houston marathon this year. And the weather looks great.

I couldn't bear the Houston Marathon Expo, so I snuck in and out with my 5k packet. Indeed the packet distribution agent (eg volunteer aka Marathon Official) advised me that I did not need to use my chip.

I looked at her in horror. My chip is unnecessary? That's like a running vasectomy. Or chip-tile dysfunction. Do I look so feeble that a chip time is an embarrassment? God forbid it is published. GRRRR.

I got my chip some Viagra, had it checked and it is ready to go. It may produce a bit slower result than it has before, but it works just fine.
