Disturbance in the Force

No it was not caused by my blazing speed on a road bike or in running shoes. But nevertheless at 5:30 am this morning lightning struck in our neighbors yard and 35 feet from where we were sleeping.

The power got knocked out. Perused the damage, left it to my wife to worry about on Mothers Day, jumped on my bike for a 55 mile ride at 18.1mph and the power turned back on just as I got back home. I am dark side evil and my wife is a saint.

Now my silly neighbours are trying to dismantle the tree with a dull handsaw. I have a much more powerful weapon. The phone to call a tree service. Manual labour is not in my job description, thank you. I am a professional slacker. I might cut myself. Why do something dangerous yourself if you can pay someone to do it for you? Anyone want to run a marathon for me or ride 120 miles in one day up and down the Rocky Mountains?

The marathon? Maybe.

You can keep the cycling in the Rockies. :)

So that's where the sensor for the lightning meter at SHSU pool is!?!

And, since Jon won't take the bike ride...I'll do it. This really cool guy gave me some tips about using low gears and not bouncing in the saddle and stuff like that. I ride like a pro now..
